During the old hot rodding days,oil was king. It was also only about 25 cents a gallon, and everyone thought there was an endless supply. Then we were hit with the oil shock of the seventies, and we realized that there was not an endless supply of oil (only of lines at the gas tanks) and we had to change our ways. Big, gas guzzling cars had to give way to economy models,and many of the traditional car companies suffered. But continued hish oil usage still threatens the supply.
This fact has forced the world to look at alternative sources of energy to fuel our vehicles. What knd of alternatives are suitable to running cars? Let’s have a look at the facts.
There are many forms of alternative energy, primarily from the forces of the earth: water (tidal or hydroelectric), air,waste (biomass), the sun and the earth itself. But currently, we only meet 10% of our energy needs through these alternative natural sources. Coal, gas and nuclear fuel supplies 88% of our needs, and oil 2% For vehicles, however, oil is by far the biggest source of power. Diesel and gas oils powers most of the cars, trucks and SuVs on the roads today. Biodiesel fuel such as vegetable oil, methanol and ethanol are starting to be used in some buses. Using the same logic, we should be able to make our cars into mini-windmills or mini solar panels. But this use is limited and we nee to find a longer-range solution.
What does the future hold?
Using alternative energy directly in cars is not practical. What’ the solution, if not windmills and solar panels? Hydogen as a source of fuel for vehicles has proven to be the most viable. Many hydrogen powerd vehicles exist today, and more are being developed.
How do we involve alternative energy more in our lives? Hydrogen as a source of power is extracted form a number of different natural resources, such as water, biomass, coal and methane. The best source is water and many cars today are being run on fuel cells that extract hydrogen from water.
There are many processes to extract hydrogen molecules. But, in general, all of these processes require electricity tofunction. As the world’s population grows, the demand for power and energy grows with it. That will help the popularity of hydrogen power, but this type of alternative power will eventually be replaced by other, more efficient types of alternative energy.
So the quest for other, better energy sources for our vehicles will continue. We may see the day when an extremely powerful solar cell or roof mounted turbine will power a car for miles.
For now, the present problem of finding alternative energy solutions to power our vehicles continues. The task is large, but it is certainly is achievable.

1. Reportedly between 1933 and 1936 a Canadian, Charles N. Pogue, was a awarded a number of patents covering a new, vaporization type carburetor. In 1936, he installed a working model on 1935, 8 cylinder coupe, and turned the car over to a leading car company of Canada, for testing.
2. Further reports claim the car achieved an astonishing 205.5 miles per gallon of gas. The car company “one of the big 3 in Detroit” reportedly documented this performance in writing. The same vehicle was then reportedly mileage tested by other Canadian automotive agencies. Results, also reportedly documented, were the same: over 200 MPG under average driving conditions. One report stated, “It performed equal to, if not better, than any car with a standard carburetor.”
3. According to a leading automotive journal, when the story broke, the Toronto Stock Exchange was swamped with orders to dump all oil stock.
4. Shortly thereafter allegations were made that, Pogue’s carburetor “disappeared.” No further tests were conducted, no fresh stories appeared in print. Did Pogue sell out? He supposedly denied doing so. Yet in a short time, Pogue (previously a man of reputed modest means), owned a factory that manufactured oil filters. No Carburetors.

Prince Albert has personally taken steps to show how concerned he is, and by setting the example of going to the North Pole has shown the leadership necessary to encourage Monaco companies to become environmentally friendly, and the Monaco Yacht Show is an example of this’.
The Monaco Yacht Show has bult a reputation over the years as the place for the wealthy to view potential purchases, and this year there will be nearly a hundred yachts on display to those able to afford it.
In total 22,000 visitors are expected to attend with over 500 exhibitors from the yachting world exhibiting.
The mix of wealth and Monte Carlo also means that real estate agents in Monaco will be on full alert. In previous years the Monaco Yacht Show has often proved more beneficial for the realtors than the Monaco Grand Prix.

So, the question we should ask ourselves as rational people is will we see something really bad come 2012 when the Sun is at it’s worst behavior? I mean as little as 0.5% increase in the Suns energy would take out all of our satellites and where would we be without our Blackberry? How much firepower advantage would our army have with “unguided missiles”?

Most, if not all of this electronic waste, contains hazardous chemicals like mercury, lead and chromium that end up leaching into our ground water from landfills or being emitted into the air from incinerators causing a GROWING environmental and health crisis. This problem is fueled by the fast paced growth of new technology that renders electronic products obsolete long before their normal lifecycle ends and the fact that most people do not know how to properly dispose of these types of products. In fact, most don’t know that these products can be recycled and reused.
But discarded electronics can be properly disposed of or recycled and it is easier than most people think. Tons of companies have programs that allow you to donate usable electronics to churches and schools, and other companies will recycle usable components, raw materials and materials like plastics, glass and aluminum. Many cities also have e-waste pick up as part of their hazardous waste pick-up programs.
You can even take advantage of tax breaks when you donate your unwanted electronics. The 21st Century Classrooms Act for Private Technology Investment allows large companies to donate used equipment to public and private schools for tax breaks and donations to nonprofits can be written off. You will need to check with each nonprofit organization regarding its particular documentation for your tax returns.
The environmental benefit to donating or recycling used electronics goes far beyond just keeping harmful chemicals out of our landfills; it also helps conserve our precious natural resources. It takes approximately 530 pounds of fossil fuel, 50 pounds of chemicals and 416 gallons of water to produce one desktop computer. Recycling electronic components can help preserve these resources and can also help use far less energy than the production of new components. Last year alone, electronics recyclers recovered over 100 million pounds of materials like aluminum, steel, glass and plastic which was reused.

Does the manufacturer offer a lease or “take back” program?
Does the manufacturer use minimal toxic materials in their equipment?
Does the manufacturer use minimal or recyclable packaging?
The age of electronics is upon us and with the constant introduction of new technology, system upgrades and fancy new gadgets coming at us daily we need to be more conscious of what we do with our e-waste. Most people are familair with or know the story of the ten plagues of Egypt thazt’s found in Exodus chapters 7-11. If in Vegas,it’s seven come eleven! So, are those events, that story literal, allegorical, or metaphorical. What say you? Was this the last fly-by time of Planet X? The time frame fits. And if so, are we looking at something similiar around 2012? Ah, the intrigue.
As we read the Kolbrin Bible, and I have, we get a different reason or cause for the ten plagues. The Kolbrin is a collection of ancient manuscripts said to have been salvaged from the Glastonbury Abbey arson in 1184. The Kolbrin said to have a connection with Jesus historically through Joseph of Arimathea.
The Kolbrin Bible is a 2-part, 11-book secular anthology. The first six books are called the “Egyptian texts” and were penned by Egyptian academicians following the Hebrew Exodus. The last five books are called the “Celtic texts” and were penned by Celtic priests following the death of Jesus. The Egyptian version of the ten plagues isn’t about the hardnened heart of Pharoah, but a massive meteorite shower (Nibiru- PlanetX?).
When you compare the Egyptian and Hebrew accounts of the plagues there appears to be an unbroken natural chain of events starting with the water turning to blood. Say what?
Planet X, being a brown dwarf, or unborn sun, is surrounded with iron particles and dust. Iron would turn the water red, just as iron makes bricks red. And there are obvious natural reasons that frogs, lice, dog flies, cattle plague, boils, hail mixed with fire, locusts, and darkness plagues came from such a pass-by. The heavy cyanide gas concentrates on the floor and ground. The custom was to place babies and childen on the cool floor while parents would sleep on the roofs. Can it happen again December 21, 2012. Well, not exactly on that date but if there 3,600 year cycle is true, we’ll know soon enough (like in 2009 sometime) as our telescopes will pick this brown dwarf up a couple of years before causing us major pain.
It is a devastating feeling when a hurricane hits anywhere in the Untied States. In order to survive a hurricane, it is important to have a disaster survival plan in place before the hurricane or disaster hits. Always be prepared is not always for the Boy Scouts, but for everyone and not just those along a beach front property because hurricanes can come pretty far inland. In addition, a tornado is another devastating disaster that one would need to survive.
Disaster survival kits should always be prepared in advance and be ready to grab at a moments notice. Items that need to be included in the disaster survival kits would be waterproof matches and a lighter; a flare gun and extra flares; clean water or tablets that allow you to make any water drinkable – you can find these at the army stores for military uses them all the time – blankets, change of clothing, medications you are currently taking – at least a couple of days worth – and non-perishable foods plus a can opener. You should also have a flashlight and radio with lots of extra batteries because you don’t know how long you will need to use these items and they do ‘eat up’ batteries.
If you find yourself in a situation when a hurricane would be coming, you must first prepare in advance by boarding up the windows and doors and if you are ordered to evacuate, you must evacuate for your on survival. If you don’t evacuate, and then find yourself in a hurricane situation, climb to safety, which would be the highest point in your home because the water will rise. This is going to be the attic for most people or the second level of your home.
Make sure you keep the disaster emergency kit on the second floor or in the attic so you can be prepared. Besides the things listed above to be kept in your emergency kit, there might be a chance that you can not get out of you house through the front or back doors and may need to climb through the roof. If that were the case, you might want to keep a pick ax or a drill or some type of tool that will help you ‘dig’ your way out of the attic somewhere near by. This is where the flares come in handy as well. You might want to keep a marker and poster board to make a help sign also.
The main thing to do in a disaster situation is to remain clam. As the water is rising or the wind is knocking your house around, it may be difficult to remain clam, but that is what is most important, to remain clam. You can not act rationally when you are not calm. Once you get to the attic, you have to wait until you know if the water is going to recede or keep rising. This is where the radio comes in handy.
You should be listening to the weather reports and the reports on where the worst damage is and what they are doing to try and rescue the people in the areas hardest hit. Do not try to wade your way out of the house if the water is waist high or even lower because you don’t know what is in the murky waters and there could be a current and it could sweep you away. The only thing you can do is wait out the storm.
If you must climb to higher ground, which would be the rooftop, then you would need to ‘dig’ a hole in the ceiling and roof of the house to crawl out of. This is where the pick ax would come in handy. If you have a slanted roof, you might want to keep some rope or climbing twine and a large clip that one would use for climbing in the attic or your survival bag to tether yourself to something strong in the attic.
